Classes & Workshops

Artist in Residence at Your School
This program is available for elementary schools. A full week of appearances in every art class where I bring in my portfolio of original hand drawn work, demonstrate techniques, and draw with the students. Schools supply the kids, some markers, crayons, and paper. I bring along my supplies, skills and wacky personality. Even the most un-inspired children come away with a new found confidence..."I didn't think I could draw very good but now I am not scared to mess up 'cause cartoons don't get hurt feelings." $2,000.00 for the week (usually PTO funded)
Cartooning Workshops
This is a marvelous way to entertain and instruct kids in the use of IMAGINATION while giving them confidence in their cartooning skills. Drew the Doodley Zoink draws with his nose and inspires kids to make a pencil scribble (with their eyes closed) to come up with new ideas and new ways of creating cxrtoons taken directly from their own IMAGE I NATION.
Private Parties, Birthdays and Special Events

After School Enrichment Programs
Many schools have had me perform a more personalized approach. They have me come in one day a week for a six week long run. The classes charge on a per student basis and classes are 2 hours long. That is a whopping 12 hours of cartooning lessons. With this much time I can get into different styles and really teach many techniques. Portfolio with markers and bristol paper provided. $80.00 per student. What a deal!
Class size has minimum of 12 students no maximum
Testimonial
"It was our great pleasure to have Rick Morris as our Artist in Residence at Cherry Tree Elementary School in Carmel last week. As the PTO representative who assisted in coordinating his visit, I can tell you that Rick was a true professional to work with. He was energetic, personable and has a true passion for his work. He was able to engage staff and students with stories about his creative experiences. He could turn a simple scribble into a special and personalized design for each student, to the delight of the young kindergartners and 5th graders alike! We would definitely recommend him to other interested groups."
